Featuring some of the UK’s most exciting underground talent collaborating with indigenous artists from across the globe, Echoes organically flows with a variety of sounds and perspectives, creatively directed by artist and curator Lexy Morvaridi. Anja Ngozi and Oki Kano collaborate on two tracks, "Utanobori '' and "Tonkori Dub," commissioned by the British Council. "Utanobori'', the album's first single, is a cinematic backdrop enhanced by Oki’s meditative playing. Whilst "Tonkori Dub'' blends Oki’s Ainu heritage with Anja's Jamaican background, creating a unique fusion of dub and the traditional instrument, the Tonkori. ãssia ghendir, Coby Sey, and Talitnnite Ouaouani combine their talents in a meditative water prayer to the desert, merging ãssia’s hypnotic vocals, Coby’s delicate production, and the ancient sounds of the Imzad played by Talitnnite Ouaouani. OMOTE and MCMO present a trip-hop inspired lament on the climate crisis, while Damsel Elysium and Vivian Guyrá deliver an 8-minute epic piece that intertwines acoustic and electronic elements with spoken word, reflecting the symbiotic relationship between the body and land from Vivian’s indigenous perspective through dance and movement. An accompanying short film of their collaboration explores the themes of the album through choreography collaborating with the land. She is best known for her distinctive line drawings documenting ever-changing city landscapes. Peel has worked extensively around the world to capture and record in detail the urban landscape around her and a specific moment in time. Inspired by the process of change, particularly the ways in which a city comes to develop its own personality and culture, she often works in acrylic and spray paint.

Artist: Rithika Pandey (in collaboration with Matthew Herbert)
Full Colour Archival Giclee print on 300gsm cotton rag
A3

“This piece took shape from my conversation with Matthew Herbert about the nature of sound (exhalation) and how the body and bones serve as vessels for the ‘wind’ to move through. Painted using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black spray paint, the piece mimics the halftone printing process while celebrating the mark-making qualities of graffiti, with visible drips, overspray, and variation in each dot. Up close, the painting reveals a field of abstract colour and texture, however from a distance, these points converge into the image of Danu as a modern Irish woman - embodying strength, creativity, and renewal. The background's lush greenery and warm orange sunset echo the colours of the Irish flag and DJ Provaí's iconic balaclava, linking ancient myth to contemporary Irish culture.
